THE youngest member of Dyke House’s initial phase of golf students got his handicap down to single fingers before becoming a teenager.

After starting to play golf aged just two, Will has played in numerous national and regional events.

In 2010 the Stockton-born golfer won the chance to play with the then world number 1 Lee Westwood after winning a northern qualifier.

During the last 12 months, Will has won five events at his local club, Eaglescliffe, and won the Durham county Under-14 champion at Beamish Park despite his younger age.

That has helped him to bring down his handicap from 12 during that time.

His golfing development started when he entered the well-known Wee Wonders tournament. That enabled him to qualify for the World and European championships, where he finished tied 11th and 39th respectively.

In 2015 he retained his County Under-14s title at Beamish Park by two shots. He also got his handicap down to three before the end of that summer as well as being named on the England Regional Golf squad for a further year.
