A BIG Newcastle United fan and he would love for his footballing ability to lead to a professional career at St James’ Park.

Drew started playing football at the age of nine for Greatham FC and has never stopped playing the game he loves since.

After just one season he was named the manager’s player of the year having shown himself to be rock solid at the back for his team. Shortly after that he was named captain of St Joseph’s Primary.

After making the decision to move to Dyke House, Drew hopes the switch will benefit his sporting and academic potential.

He said: “I’m so happy to be part of the Elite Squad and I believe that the scholarship will help me reach my goal of becoming a very good footballer and athlete.”

And in 2015 he had success with both Boro Rangers and Dyke House.  As well as winning the treble with school, he helped Rangers to the league and cup double.
