STARTING young proved the catalyst for Kristen who is developing in to one of the school’s best girl footballers.

She started to play the game at the tender age of just three and is now regarded as a very dangerous winger because of her speed.

Kristen is also capable of playing a more withdrawn role on the flanks and her performances have led to awards such as the most improved player, best attitude and player of the year. She has also had trials for Durham, Sunderland and Newcastle.

Since joining Dyke House she has become a key component of the College team and she was instrumental in the group of girls winning the town-wide seven-a-side tournament – and she wants more honours to follow.

Kristen’s long-term aim is to become a professional but she also likes the idea of being a sports teacher working with children with special needs. She is interested in boxing and netball too.
