Success for Year 8 girls at games

DYKE HOUSE’S brilliant Year 8 girls stunned the rest of the area by winning a prestigious title.

 

DYKE HOUSE’S brilliant Year 8 girls stunned the rest of the area by winning a prestigious title.

The ten students were selected to represent Dyke House in the Tees Valley School Games’ final at Middlesbrough’s Eston Leisure Centre.

Despite coming up against nine other schools – including Macmillan Academy, King’s Academy, Laurence Jackson and High Tunstall – the Dyke House team shone.

Throughout the day, the girls represented the college in a brilliant manner, displaying fantastic team-work, effort and attitude in all aspects of the event.

The girls managed to finish first; a fantastic achievement and thoroughly deserved. The success was built on results involving these below:

Jess Dodd (four-lap, obstacle and relay races)

Frankie McSweeney (vertical jump)

Kirstin McManus (long jump)

Alex Welsh (obstacle race)

Destiny Brown (two-lap and relay races)

Katie Day (six-lap and relay races)

Emily Henderson (relay race)

Leonie Mann (eight-lap race)

Courtney Peacock (eight-lap and obstacle race)
