Lifeline: Elton Gray put Dyke House back into it

REED HENDERSON hit a dramatic winner to complete a remarkable comeback and seal a place in the Hartlepool Schools’ FA Cup final for Dyke House’s Year 11s.

It capped an incredible 4-3 victory for the Dyke House team even though they had to bounce back from being two goals down to progress.

Dyke House struggled from the start as they underestimated a much-improved Manor team.

Manor got off to a flyer and cruised into a two-goal lead inside ten minutes.

Dyke House sparked into life at that point. After getting their heads together, they started to play more as a team and that led to Elton Gray pulling one back before the break.

Straight after half-time Kaj Andersen leveled things up. Just as they thought they were back in the game, Manor edged in front through a free kick.

The game was evenly balanced with chances from both sides in an end-to-end cup tie when Dyke House started to get on top with the possession.

And with about ten minutes to go Dyke House equalised courtesy of a superb strike from Vinnie Steels.

The stage was set for Henderson to strike a crucial late blow with three minutes to go to drive Dyke House into the final.
