DOUBLE: Coban Ferguson

DYKE HOUSE’S Year 7s missed out on an all-Hartlepool final in the Cleveland Schools’ FA Cup after a dramatic extra-time defeat.

The winners of the semi-final would have faced High Tunstall tonight but it wasn’t to be for Dyke House after eventually losing 6-3.

Dyke House took the lead through Coban Ferguson but still trailed at the break by 2-1 having failed to cope with the wind.

After the restart Dyke House had all the possession but found themselves a further goal behind when they conceded from a counter-attack.

Dyke House rallied and, after Will Cain had pulled one back, it was all square with four minutes remaining when Ferguson added his second.

Sacred Heart’s keeper pulled off a fine save just before the end that would have seen Dyke House through.

In extra-time Sacred Heart took command after a quality strike found the top corner from outside the box.

Dyke House pushed players forward to try to level and that saw the visitors hit two more on the counter attack to wrap things up.
